Bread Line
2010
cast handmade paper, video projection sound
13' x 13' x 6'
_Bread Line _ reflects the uneasiness of our time. I’ve been thinking about bread and its enduring symbolism, since last year as the economy teetered on the edge of collapse and the talk of worldwide depression filled the media. As the memory of Depression era breadlines became relevant, I began casting oversize loaves of breads.

The breads are stacked up to form a tower. Inside the tower is a projection of bread dough rising accompanied by the sound of bread being kneaded. This sound is really be a whisper, emanating from different locations in the tower.
