Found object, blown glass, fabric
Big Choice originated as a full sized arcade game commonly known as The Claw Machine or The Crane, usually found in cheap arcades and diners. Familiar to many, it is a 7-foot high, 4-foot wide glass-encased display with working claw and joystick. These machines were usually filled with a variety of prizes such as stuffed animals or small toys. In the Big Choice I have been building
the mirrored back wall of the encasement reflects the new contents of the machine - hand blown glass fetuses. Each 7x 4 sculpture is either pink or blue and has been specifically designed for use in this machine. One hundred fifty of these fetus shaped gender-specific prizes are up for grabs and constitute the viewers Big Choice.
