My subjects, young women at the cusp of adulthood, exist in an eternal summer within the sham candor of their adolescence, searching for themselves with the longing and hope of great pop songs. Horses and inanimate objects take on a male presence in an oil-painted landscape that is populated entirely by girls. I try to evoke an open-ended fiction while speaking of the documentary quality of photography, the language of fashion, and the transient nature of memory. The paintings are small in size, allowing a more intimate viewing experience. They emerge from the wall off beveled edges to create frozen suggestive moments.
