Mixed Media on Paper
30" x 22"
WORK STATEMENT
______________________________________________________________________________

The next three paintings were created on paper using a variety of media. Their arched structure is reminiscent of Renaissance and Baroque church art and architecture. The narratives contained within the paintings explore the intersection of money, power and the environment.

I look for dramatic possibilities within the work. The forms in the paintings echo the turmoil and turbulence of contemporary events, environmental devastation, endless war, 9/11 and religious conflicts. This cycle of allegorical paintings has taken on a biblical arc.

These pieces are a continuation of a sequence of works begun in 2000 that include photographs, works on paper and mixed media reliquaries.
