I call these pieces "admissions" because advertising makes up the financial backbone of journalism and provides access to our daily news. With this series, I explore journalistic text as a structure that affects how we see by revealing, obscuring, omitting or admitting. I’m interested in the way advertising functions as a peripheral visual in printed media.

By screen-printing redacted pages over abstracted sections of advertising, I uncouple the beauty of these images from their manipulative source. When flocked with glitter, luxury items become shimmering landscapes suggestive of outer space.
