Artist's Statement
I make wall reliefs and outdoor kinetic sculptures incorporating weaving -- as well as photographs of clothing underwater -- to explore the “fabric of the universe.” I see this fabric as a continuous blanket of matter that includes atoms, people, planets, and everything in between. My photographs of shirts show structures -- stripes and plaids -- distorted by the lens of water. My sculptures, which resemble mountains, tents, sails, and kayaks, are vehicles for an infinite landscape. My wall reliefs apply self-imposed laws of weaving in sheet metal to accommodate bicycles.
