Artist Statement

I have painted the landscape of central New York for many years. Raised on a dairy farm, I have a visceral affinity for the barns and silos that dot the rural landscape and an appreciation of their cultural significance. About twenty years ago, windmills began to appear across the upstate region. Like barns, these magnificent white structures cast a spell over the surrounding country side and contribute to a sustainable rural economy. I hope my wind mill paintings will help people appreciate the beauty of these great machines and the renewable energy they generate.

Henry J. Drexler is a self- taught contemporary realist. He works in acrylic, painting the landscape of upstate New York and New England. His work is in museum, corporate and private collections throughout the United States. More of his work can be viewed at www.drexlerart.com
