I was always drawn to colors, patterns, and textures. My artwork starts with a story, but it usually ends up conveying the feelings and moods through color and texture.
I find that working with fibers allows me to express the feel and complexity of organic and geometric themes I am interested in. I layer and collage, and I experiment with new and unusual materials.
I hand paint or dye the textiles I use, and I create new surfaces by heat fusing and distorting some of them. Textiles are burned, shrunk, hand and machine stitched, and embellished with bits and pieces of yarns and textiles.
My art is experimental and ever evolving. What is constant is my focus on finding beauty in the ordinary.Biography
