Upstate New York has been our home for the last twelve years. Prior to living here I was in Texas and New Mexico with a summer studio in my home town in Oregon.

I have been an exhibiting artist since 1965 when my work was included in "Northwest Printmakers" at the University of Washington, Seattle. Since then I have had work in two Whitney Biennials, Whitney Museum of American Art [1975 & 1981], the National Portrait Gallery, Washington, DC, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX and numerous other national and international galleries and museums. One person museum and university exhibits include the Longview Museum of Fine Art, Longview, Texas; Amarillo Art Center, Amarillo, Corpus Christi Art Museum, Corpus Christi, Texas; Art Museum, University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming and others.

I was a Professor of Art at the University of Texas at Austin [1984-1997] and Dean and Professor, School of Art and Design at Alfred University until 2009.

Currently I am spending all my time working in my studio in Alfred Station, New York and traveling around the country for in search of excellent trout fishing.
