This short form of a Navajo prayer has become a mantra for me as I contend with the wide angles of 180 degrees in all directions. In order to absorb all these wide angles, rather than the correct Renaissance perspective and that of most cameras, I always paint on site.
While weather and transportation present their own challenges, painting outside is good like dancing to live music!
As a child of parents who met at the Art Students League in New York City, it was no surprise that in 1964, I should be an art major at Oberlin. We came to the Capital District in 1989. My sons are grown now. I live with my husband, David Hemmendinger and miniature poodle, Pogo.
