Artist Statement:
My work strives to express both the tensions and pleasures of everyday life through a visual form that fascinates me. For me, there is an irresistible familiarity to the primal and daily need of eating and the ceremony that surrounds it. This gives me an opportunity to explore people’s absorption with the ritual of eating and the physical comfort that can be derived from it. Exploring the idea of food and feasting in art, the celebration of life, in attempt to transform it into this still beautiful but very intense, almost tangibleexperience. Moving deeper and deeper into the territory of human bestiality.
