My love of film and old ephemera come together in my collages, which are at once fantastical, and wistful. They are like freeze-frames from films which only play in my dreams. By having movies act as my work soundtrack, my sense of mise-en-scene is piqued and then translated to the paper subjects I have carefully culled from decaying magazines and books with my trusted X-Acto. Once the paper layers are glued together, they are carefully wed to the appropriate second-hand frame and then hung on the wall, acting like posters of coming attractions.
I wish I could watch the movies my pieces are stills from.
